The 2025 Rangpur Academy Transition Provision

The official text gives section 6 the heading “special provision”. From the commencement of the Ordinance, it addressed rules, regulations and other legal documents made under the 2023 Act; special or general orders, notifications and gazette notifications issued under it; and executed documents. In those materials, the words “Sheikh Russel” were to be deleted. The clause applies unless the context required otherwise. The provision is a textual direction concerning specified references, not a general commentary on every administrative consequence of an amendment.

The phrase “unless the context requires otherwise” is material. It signals that historic documents cannot be read solely by applying a mechanical word deletion. The document’s date, purpose, statutory basis and surrounding terms remain relevant. A record may also contain references created under the 2023 Act before the Ordinance’s commencement. The 2025 source tells the reader the amendment formula; it does not answer every question about how a particular document should be used in a later setting.

Section 6 operates alongside the earlier textual amendments. Those earlier sections removed “Sheikh Russel” from the long title, section 1(1) and section 3(1) of the 2023 Act, and made stated deletions in section 7(1). Keeping section 6 distinct from those provisions produces a more accurate historical account: one set changes the parent Act’s text; the other extends a deletion rule to the described materials made or issued under it.

The official Bangladesh legislation portal lists Ordinance No. 06 of 2025 as repealed by the Sheikh Russel Palli Unnayan Academy, Rangpur (Amendment) Act, 2026, Act No. 22 of 2026. The historical section 6 wording should not be treated as a free-standing statement of present document treatment. A current matter should be checked against the current law and materials applicable to its facts.

First fix the relevant date and issue. Next identify the exact provision and version of the source being cited. Finally keep the historical text separate from the current legal framework, including any current legislation, rules, notifications or other materials that may govern a live matter. The 2025 instrument can be useful evidence of a historic legislative position; it is not a substitute for a current-law review.
