The guarantee, in full

Pass the TRW Internship Exam and you are guaranteed an internship offer at TRW & Co. Here is exactly what that means, and the conditions that come with it.

The TRW Internship Exam is our route to a law internship in Bangladesh at TRW & Co. Every candidate who passes is guaranteed an internship offer at TRW. There is no shortlist after the exam and no contest for a fixed number of places: meet the pass rules and the conditions below, and the offer is yours.

i
What the guarantee covers

An internship offer at our Dhaka head office, open for 12 months from your pass date. You tell us your preferred practice group and dates. We place you in the next cohort with capacity in that group or, if there is none, the nearest available alternative.

Conditions of the guarantee

  • You pass the exam: 70% overall and at least 50% in every section
  • You pass a document check: proof of enrolment or graduation, photo ID and a CV
  • You take part in a short onboarding call, which is not a further selection interview
  • You take up the offer within 12 months of your pass date
  • You intern at the Dhaka head office (House 410, Road 29, Mohakhali DOHS)

Who can sit, and how the exam works

The exam is open to law students and recent law graduates, in Bangladesh or abroad. It is a single 60-minute sitting of 45 multiple-choice questions in four sections.

Who can sit

  • Law students on an LLB or LLM at a Bangladeshi or overseas university
  • Students on a law conversion course or a Bar training course
  • Law graduates within two years of graduating
  • Anyone who has not sat the exam in the last 90 days
!
An internship is not pupillage

A TRW internship does not count towards Bar Council pupillage. Pupillage is a separate step for law graduates preparing for enrolment as an advocate, served in the chamber of an advocate of at least ten years' practice. See trw.co/careers/how-to-become-a-lawyer-in-bangladesh.

Scoring: pass, distinction or not yet

Two rules decide a pass: 70% overall and at least 50% in every one of the four sections. Score 85% or more and you pass with distinction.

0%overall pass mark
0%minimum in every section

How your result is decided

  1. Each section is scoredOn submission

Sections A, B, C and D are each marked separately.

  2. Section floorCheck 1

Every section must reach at least 50%. A strong overall score does not make up for a weak section.

  3. Overall markCheck 2

Your overall score must be 70% or more.

  4. DistinctionCheck 3

A pass with an overall score of 85% or more is a pass with distinction.

  • 70% or more overall
  • At least 50% in every section
  • Guaranteed internship offer, open for 12 months
Candidates with a sound, even grounding across all four sections

When you start, you register, accept the honour code and the 60-minute timer begins. Answer each question before moving on. • 60 minutes free, in one unbroken block
  • A stable internet connection
  • No reference material, notes or help from anyone: the honour code applies
  • This is your one attempt for the next 90 days
!
The paper submits itself

When the 60 minutes run out, your paper is submitted automatically with the answers you have given. Switching away from the exam tab is recorded with your attempt.
